It's Sooner Than You Think!

The Philadelphia Lightning have been around since 2014. as an NGFFL Member city the lightning plays in the current three NGFFL annual tournaments. In that time, the team initially struggled on the field eventually winning their first tournament game in 2019 at NY Gay Bowl. Immediately following that, in 2020, the Lightning won the first ever B Division Championship at the Florida Sunshine Cup. Since then, the Lightning have been a solid contender in NGFFL tournaments.

The Lightning is a Women’s+ NGFFL Flag team focused on supporting LGBTQ [specifically women, gender nonconforming and trans] athletes and their allies on and off the field. The team practices for all tournaments during the week/or weekend depending on time of year and is a committed group of athletes and family. To play with the lightning it is highly encouraged that you play in the GPFFL seasons, as that is our NGFFL host league and gets players ready for tournament rules and play.
